    The River Ely flows from the foothills to the north of Llantrisant, through St Fagans , Ely and down to Cardiff Bay and then the Severn Estuary. The river passes under Cowbridge Road West under the A48 bridge. There has been a history of flooding in this area. In September 2008, some 27 properties were inundated.     We’re moving forward with a scheme in Ammanford to manage flood risk from the rivers Loughor, Marlas and Lash. We predict that more than 250 properties in the town are currently at risk of floodingwith a 1% chance of this happening each year during an extreme flood event.
