Citizen Science Project Register

Overview

Click view this page in welsh

Citizen science is thriving across Wales, and we want to ensure we have a good understanding of the projects taking place across our natural environment. The Project register provides a simple way for groups to share information about their work, even when they are not seeking support from NRW. This helps us build a clearer picture of activity across Wales and identify emerging themes in the evidence landscape.

Purpose of the Project register

The register allows you to share details of your citizen science project so NRW can stay informed about the breadth of work happening across Wales. It is intended for projects that are not requesting collaboration, resources, or advice from NRW. The information helps us to collectively:

  • Share project information to help us understand the wider evidence picture
  • Increase visibility of citizen science activity across Wales
  • Support long‑term evidence planning within NRW

If you are seeking support, please use our Citizen Science Collaboration Request Form instead. Citizen Science collaboration request form

Who should use this form

This is suitable for:

  • Citizen science groups not seeking NRW involvement
  • Projects at any stage be that planning, active, or completed.
  • Organisations wanting to share updates or outcomes

If you simply want to make NRW aware of your work, this is the right place.

This information helps us map activity across Wales and identify opportunities for future engagement.

What This Register Does Not Do

To avoid confusion, please note that the register:

  • Does not request NRW support
  • Does not replace the Citizen science collaboration request form
  • Does not trigger pollution response or regulatory action

If you need NRW collaboration, advice, or access to resources, please complete the collaboration request form instead.

How is your information used after you submit

Once submitted:

  • Your project is added to NRW’s internal register.
  • NRW may contact you if your project aligns with evidence needs or future opportunities.
