Gwydir Reservoirs Safety Improvements

Natural Resources Wales gives notice that it proposes to carry out improvement works to three reservoirs within the Gwydir Forest. The reservoirs are Llyn Goddionduoun (SH752 583), Llyn Tynymynydd (SH767 589) and Llyn Cyfty (SH773 590).

The proposed improvement work will involve repairs to existing spillways, localised topsoiling, installation of small telemetry cabinets with water level monitoring sensors, remote cameras pointing at the watercourse, and the installation of survey pins. The three sites fall under the Reservoirs Act 1975. Natural Resources Wales considers that the improvement works are not likely to have significant effects on the environment and does not intend to prepare an environmental statement in respect of them. An Environmental Report comprising an Environmental Action Plan (EAP) has been produced for the three sites, summarising actions required to implement the environmental mitigation and outcomes in relation to the design, construction, operation of the proposed works. It also identifies roles and responsibilities of those involved in the project and refers to all temporary and permanent works.
