Llanfair Talhaiarn Nant Barrog Natural Risk Management (NRM) scheme
Natural Resources Wales gives notice that it proposes to carry out improvement works on Nant Barrog, upstream of Llanfair Talhaiarn between (NGR SH 91938 67627 (upstream) and NGR SH 92134 68018 (downstream).
The proposed improvement works will involve the following: riparian tree planting, construction of large woody dams and fencing off these areas while the trees get established.These works are to take place in the upper part of the Nant Barrog catchment for a length of 1km on land belonging to Llwyn Erwyn.
The proposed development does not exceed the applicable threshold /criteria within Column 2 of Schedule 2 of the EIA Regulations in relation to category 10(h) development. The proposed development does not fall within a ‘sensitive area’ as defined by the EIA Regulations.
The proposed development therefore does not require screening under the EIA Regulations. Natural Resources Wales considers that the improvement works are not likely to have significant effects on the environment and does not intend to prepare an environmental statement in respect of them. An Environmental Report comprising an Environmental Action Plan (EAP) has been produced for this site, summarising actions required to implement the environmental mitigation and outcomes in relation to the design, construction, operation of the proposed works. It also identifies roles and responsibilities of those involved in the project and refers to all temporary and permanent works.
