Notice is hereby given that Blue Gem Wind Ltd of Bridge Innovation Centre, Pembrokeshire Science and Technology Park, Pembroke Dock, SA72 6UN, has applied to Natural Resources Wales (“NRW”) for a marine licence to carry out a regulated activity under the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009. The project requires EIA consent and is subject to the requirement for an environmental impact assessment (“EIA”) under the Marine Works (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations 2007 (“the EIA Regulations”). An environmental statement has been prepared by the applicant.
The application is for a demonstration scale Floating Offshore Wind development located approximately 35km southwest of the Pembrokeshire coastline, covering an area of 43.5km2. The Project comprises 6-10 Wind Turbine Generators (WTG) with a total generating capacity up to 100 MW. The offshore export cable links the array area to landfall at West Angle Bay, Pembrokeshire.
