Announcement of intention not to prepare an environmental statement.

Natural Resources Wales gives notice that it proposes to carry out improvement works to the flood defences on the River Usk in Caerleon, Newport on Caerleon Road – B4596 between NGR ST3417190147 and NGR ST34184 90147 , a distance of 0.014 kilometres. The proposed improvement works will involve the following: Installation of a new demountable flood barrier (concrete foundations supporting steel pads) to cross the road in the above location. 

Natural Resources Wales considers that the improvement works are not likely to have significant effects on the environment and does not intend to prepare an environmental statement in respect of them. Although an environmental statement is not proposed the scheme design has considered environmental factors associated with the site and incorporated environmental improvements where feasible.
